As expected, Sony announced its waterproof device, the Xperia ZR, featuring a 4.6-inch HD Reality Display with 1280×720 pixels and available in two colors, black and white. The eye-catching point is that the Xperia ZR is water-resistant to 1.50 meters (5 feet) of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. What’s more, it’s also dust-resistant and equipped with durable tempered glass with an anti-shatter film on the front, which makes Xperia ZR anything but fragile.
As to its other specs, Xperia ZR is built with a 13MP camera with EXMOR RS, which can snap highly detailed shots with low noise. The handset comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor to give you maximum performance and speed without draining your battery. It also has NFC, 2GB RAM and LTE.
However, with the tagline “Coming soon,” there is not much information about when it will be available and the pricing. But when it comes out, the new Sony Xperia ZR is sure to be a big hit amongst Sony fans and the outdoorsy type, who will love a waterproof phone.
