It has been a long time since we’re heard anything about Apple’s next
generation iPad. But yesterday, it was reported that the next
generation of the full-sized Apple iPad will start being mass produced
in July or August with an estimated five million units to be shipped-out
in the third quarter.
The 9.7-inch Apple iPad 5 is said to be using a thin-film-type touch
panel which can reduce its weight by 20-30%. Also, the design of Apple’s
new iPad will be modified to a slim border to enlarge the viewing area.
With an addition of three million units of the original 9.7 iPad,
total iPad production is expected to total eight million units in Q3.
With the new generation’s release in mind, Apple has postponed mass
production of the new generation iPad mini from September to November;
this is believed to be because it will impact the sales of the iPad.
